The centerpiece of the 500-square-meter technology and application center is the GROB G150 universal machining center, which is already in use on site. Starting in September 2025, the G550 5-axis milling machining center will expand the machine portfolio to offer customers even more technical solutions on site.
With the new application center, GROB is further expanding its proximity to its French customers. Here, they can experience innovative technologies live, develop customized solutions together with GROB experts, and benefit from service support directly on site. At the same time, the TAC strengthens the visibility of the GROB brand in France and offers ideal conditions for direct knowledge transfer through on-site training.
Ceremonial kick-off
Numerous invited guests, including customers, partners, and industry representatives, attended the official inauguration on June 26, 2025. Christian Müller, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of GROB-Werke, also took part in the event: "The opening of the TAC in France is a significant milestone and a strong sign of the potential GROB sees in the French market. This will enable us to tackle demanding technological challenges directly on site."
After a festive opening ceremony, visitors were able to see the G150 in action during a live machining demonstration of an impeller. The program was rounded off with a tour of the facilities of technology partner Haimer.
Open house for trade visitors
The following day, June 27, 2025, the TAC opened its doors to all interested trade visitors. In addition to seeing the G150 in action, guests were treated to presentations on GROB's various business areas, including e-mobility and digitalization, as well as opportunities to network and exchange ideas with GROB experts.
Another highlight was the participation of seven GROB partner companies, which also presented their latest technical innovations: Langtechnik, Haimer, TopSolid, Lanner France, Blaser, Seco, and ITB Innovation.
GROB France on course for growth
The GROB branch in France was founded in Senlis in 2019 and has been based in Lyon with 14 employees since 2025. For branch manager Thomas Poncet, the opening of the TAC marks the achievement of an important goal: “With our new technology and application center, we are moving even closer to our customers, creating space for personal exchange and providing direct insight into our technologies – I am convinced that this will enable us to deliver the best solutions for our customers and their projects.”
GROB France's customers include almost all well-known French aircraft manufacturers and their suppliers. Other business areas include mold making, energy technology, and the automotive supply industry.
