Questions about the application
Please apply exclusively through our online application system. At the bottom of each job posting, you will find a link to an online form that allows you to submit your application quickly and easily.
Note: For organizational reasons, we are unable to process paper applications or applications submitted via email, and therefore they will not be considered.
To fully review your application, we need:

Once we receive your application, we will carefully review your documents. You will typically receive an initial response within two weeks. Depending on the position, we conduct one or two interviews. The total duration of the process may therefore vary.
Unfortunately, speculative applications are not currently accepted. Please apply for the open positions listed in our Careers section.
Yes, you are welcome to apply for multiple positions. It’s best to focus on the positions that are a particularly good fit for your profile.
Yes. You can update your documents or upload additional files at any time via your personal applicant profile.
You can view the current status of your application in your applicant profile. As soon as we have reviewed your documents, you will also receive a notification via email.
Your personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations and, of course, treated confidentially.
We will discuss the salary together during the interview. We offer competitive pay based on the industry.
Questions about the job interview
Your job interview will take place either in person at our location in Bluffton or virtually via video call. We’ll start by briefly introducing ourselves, and then we’d like to learn more about your professional experience, qualifications, and motivation.
For a successful video interview, you will need:
- a stable internet connection
- a camera (laptop or external)
- ideally, a headset for good audio quality
You will receive the individual access link for the online interview conveniently via email in advance.
We recommend a neat, business-casual look that suits the position you are applying for. Above all, it is important that you feel comfortable and come across as authentic.
To ensure you’re well-prepared, we recommend:
- Learn about GROB as a company, our products, and our locations.
- Read the job description thoroughly and consider which experiences and skills you’d like to highlight.
- Jot down any questions that are important to you during the application process.
Good preparation boosts your confidence and helps you make a professional impression.
Typically, you’ll speak with one or two representatives from the relevant department, as well as a recruiter from Human Resources. This gives you a comprehensive insight into the workplace and the expectations for the position.
Questions for highschool students
Anyone with a high school diploma or GED. High school seniors are also eligible to apply. Apprentices must turn 18 within their first year of employment. There is no maximum age.
Applications are typically accepted from around Labor Day through spring. A new class of apprentices starts each June. Application deadlines and updates will be posted on our website and on our social media channels.

No prior experience is needed! GROB has a staff of 5 full-time employees dedicated to the training of apprentices. During your 2 years of technical training, you will learn all the skills needed to be successful at GROB. Apprentices will learn through hands-on projects, classroom curriculum, and working alongside experienced employees
Once we receive your application, we’ll carefully review your documents. If you impress us, we'll invite you to a phone screen interview.
We typically hire anywhere from 20-40 apprentices each June. This number varies each year based on projected company need at the time. We only hire as many apprentices as we can guarantee a position at the end of the program.
Earn while you learn: Your tuition is paid 100 % by GROB. You are getting paid a full 40 hour week – even while in class, like a full-time employee with benefits.
GROB does not currently offer tuition reimbursement for furthering your education. GROB will pay for the initial 2-year Engineering Technology degree through the apprenticeship, however, any further education beyond that must be done on your own.
Apprentices are considered full-time employees of GROB. Benefits include: 100% company-paid insurance premiums (medical, dental, vision), free daily lunches, uniforms provided, $160 reimbursement for safety shoes each year, 12 paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
Questions for college students
Your interview will take place either in person on-site or virtually. During the interview, we’d like to get to know you, your motivation, and your professional knowledge. It’s important to us that you get an authentic impression of GROB – and that we get an authentic impression of you.
Our program offers you exciting hands-on projects, training, and plenty of networking opportunities during your time with us. This allows you to develop both professionally and personally and build valuable connections.
Our internships usually last three to six months – ideal for diving deep into your responsibilities and gaining real-world project experience.
